英国注册护士的认证条件
中国人如果要在英国从事护士工作，首先要成为 NMC（Nursing &
Midwifery Council） 的注册护士。其条件为:
相关护理工作经验1年（出国之前）
正规院校或护校毕业证书，教育和培训总时间不少于三年
本人在英国拥有合法的居留签证或身份
3～6个月的英国医院内工作实习（即full-time adaptation courses全日制适应课程）
IELTS雅思成绩不少于6.5分
英国注册护士的工作待遇
英国注册护士工作享受以下待遇：
- 从事注册护士工作的，年薪至少为14000英镑～22000英镑，有特殊专业技能的护士最高可以拿到年薪45000英镑
- 从事一般护理工作的，年薪至少为10000英镑-～14000英镑
- 每年享有一个半月（六周）的带薪假期
- 同样享有英国法定的其他带薪节假日，节假日加班享受双薪待遇
- 配偶及子女可以到英国，子女享有大学前免费教育
- 工作满四年后，外籍护士可获得在英国永久居留权（绿卡）
- 获得绿卡后再过一年，成为英国公民，可免签证出入美国、所有欧洲国家和加拿大、澳大利亚等所有英联邦国家
成为英国注册护士之前的收支概况
课程学习期间（6个月）
英国政府规定留学生一周可以工作20小时，工资不能低于4英镑/小时；
通过打工，每月至少可以收入300英镑，实际上大部分打工的留学生收入可在400英镑以上；
根据档次不同，生活费的每月总支出在200英镑～300英镑；
故在课程学习期间通过打工，不仅可完全支付生活费，还能有一定的积蓄。
医院实习期间（3～6个月）
通过雅思IELTS6.5之后，在拿到NMC证书成为正式的注册护士之前，须从事3～6个月的医院带薪实习，月薪800英镑～1200英镑；
每月生活费支出仍然为200英镑～300英镑；
故在医院实习期间，不仅可完全支付生活费，还能有较多的积蓄
在英国从事注册护士工作的好处
一．签证办理周期短，签证成功率高
现在通常的办理时间是不到两个月即可以成功赴英，英国是目前签证成功率最高的国家（与美国，澳大利亚，加拿大相比）。
二．成为英国注册护士不需要通过专业考试（英语考试除外）
要成为英国注册护士，只需满足五条“认证条件”，不必参加任何专业考试。当然，雅思6.5分是其中一个必需条件。详情可以参见“英国注册护士认证条件”
三．语言起点要求低，也不需要高中文凭
因为护士通常先是去读语言学校，所以对英语要求不高，普通高中英语水平即可通过，而且去英国并不需要独立的高中文凭。
四．注册护士容易获得英国居留、公民身份
以注册护士身份工作满四年后，外籍护士可获得在英国永久居留权（绿卡）。获得绿卡后再过一年，成为英国公民，即可免签证出入美国、所有欧洲国家和加拿大、澳大利亚等所有英联邦国家，成为真正的“国际自由人”。
五．有充分的适应期
因为先在英国学习半年的时间，这半年为你提供了一个很好的适应期，你可以慢慢适应当地的生活和文化，此后参加英国医院的实习3到6个月时间，为将来的工作打好基础。
六．英国的福利政策很好
在英国所有人享受免费医疗，享受免费教育，对于护士还有特别的低税收政策，一些雇主还为护士提供免费住房（只是部分）。另外，护士还可以享受每年6周的带薪假期。
七．英国的教育水平高
英国的教育水平与美国不相上下，如果你是移民，那么对于孩子的教育来说非常有利——基础教育的免费以及英国大学对本国学生的低收费大大降低了教育成本。如果你的孩子在国内接受教育，然后再出来留学，那么成本是非常高的。
八．可以作为去美国的最佳跳板
在英国伦敦可以直接参加ＣＧＦＮＳ考试，另外，２００４年年底之前在英国也将设立美国的NCLEX－RN考试考点，届时英国将成为赴美之前的最佳跳板。

办理赴英签证必需的文件
1.本人有效护照

3.毕业证书原件、复印件及英文翻译件
4.护士执业证书原件、复印件及英文翻译件
5.出生证明的原件、复印件及英文翻译件
6.资金担保金证明：人民币13万元以上，到签证时存期3个月以上的存折原件
（注意：存折户头所有者需出示收入证明，主要内容包括此人工作单位，工作时间，职务，月薪，奖金，平均年薪等项。此材料需单位公文纸，用中英文打印出来，并具单位领导亲笔签名，同时签名下面要注明办公电话以供使馆查询。如非本人账户，需做本人与资金担保人关系的中英文公证，及资金担保人书写的一份认可证明）
7. 护校成绩单（理论与实践分开，并注明实习期间所从事的具体专业内容）原件、复印件及英文翻译件
8. 无犯罪记录中英文公证件
什么是NMC?
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is an organisation set
up by Parliament to ensure nurses, midwives and health visitors
provide high standards of care to their patients
To achieve its aims, the NMC:
Maintains a register of qualified nurses, midwives and health
visitors; Sets standards for education, practice and conduct; Provides
advice for nurses, midwives and health visitors; Considers allegations
of misconduct or unfitness to practise due to ill health.

申请NMC所需具备的个人条件
The NMC register is divided into parts that indicate different
specialities or professions. These currently include general nursing,
mental health nursing, learning disabilities nursing, children抯
nursing and midwifery. It is important to realise that in order
to apply for a given part of the NMC register you will need to have
actually been trained in that discipline. For example if you have
been trained as a general nurse alone then you will not be able
to apply for any of the other parts of the register even if the
majority of your post registration/qualification experience in your
home country has been in sick children nursing for example. Additionally
if you hold a combined course you should check with the NMC as to
the suitability of this course before you apply 。The NMC is only
enabled by law to accept applications from holders of first level
qualifications. We will not be able to accept your application if
you hold any of the following or equivalent qualifications
1.enrolled nurse
2. enrolled midwife
3. licensed practical nurse (LPN)
4. vocational nurse
5. community nurse
6. state certified nurse
7. staff nurse (South Africa)
8. mother craft nurse
9. nursery nurse

申请NMC所具备的英语水平如何
IIf you trained in a non-European Union country whose primary
mode of expression is not English, you will be required to undertake
and gain a specific mark in the International English Language Testing
System (IELTS). You must complete the general module and gain a
mark of 5.5 in each category and an overall band score of 6.5. You
must have sufficient command of English to enable you competently
to carry out such activities as:
a)communicating effectively with patients, clients and colleagues;
b)writing and keeping patients' notes and records in such a way
that they
could be used as evidence in any legal proceedings;
c)explaining a patients' condition and interests to other health
care practitioners;
d)keeping up-to-date with relevant research.
Even if you come from a country where the primary mode of expression
is English the NMC has the right to ask you to take the IELTS test
if it considers this appropriate. Additionally you must ensure that
you provide all information in your NMC application in English.

There is an application fee of ￡117 when you apply

注册NMC所需要的材料
To help us process your application, all documents other than
the NMC forms should be submitted as clear copies on plain white
single sided A4 paper. Because the NMC uses an image based computer
system and all documents are bar-coded and are scanned upon return
we do not accept photocopies or faxes of the application forms.
The originals must be returned through the post. The following forms
will be supplied to you in your application pack
1. An application form.
2. A copy of your registration certificate
3. A copy of your birth certificate.
4. Two employment references.
5. A transcript of your training.
6. A registration authority reference form.
You must return all of the application forms within six months
of the date on which the pack was issued to you. If you have not
returned all the forms by the end of this period, your file will
be closed.
**All the above documents must be certified copies. If they have
been translated then a copy of the original must be supplied along
with the translation and both must have been verified by an official
translation agency or by your embassy as authentic. Please note
that the NMC is unable to return these documents

申请的过程和结果
When the NMC receives your completed application pack, it will
make a decision on your pplication.When you have been notified of
this decision,you may need to find asupervised placement in the
UK to undertake additional education and practice. If you are applying
for registration as a midwife, when you have been notified of the
decision, you will need to find an adaptation course that is run
through an approved higher education institution to undertake additional
education and practice. The NMC cannot assist applicants in finding
an institution that will accept them for supervised practice. Some
individuals have found this a difficult part of the process and
some institutions charge for providing supervised practice, although
the NMC does not encourage this. Will I be asked to attend the NMC
for an interview?
This would not normally happen. However,there are a number of
circumstances in
which you may be asked to attend an interview with one of the
professional officers
of the NMC. These are if:
1. the NMC has received relatively few applications from the country
where you trained and we therefore need to clarify the training
and role of nurses and midwives in your country
2. you are a refugee and cannot provide a complete set of official
documents supporting your registration and details of your training
in your country
3. the information contained in your application is confusing or
incomplete
4. you are appealing against the decision given on your application
5. the NMC has a sound reason to believe that your application is
fraudulent
You may be eligible for registration provided that you can supply
us with copies of
your nursing diploma(s) and registration documents. If you cannot
supply this
information you will not be eligible to apply.
If you decide to apply for registration, you must submit along with
your completed
application request form:
1. a copy of your immigration letter
2. a copy of the Home Office letter confirming your status
3. a social security support letter.
Upon receipt of the above documents you will be exempted from
the ?117 application fee,although if you are ultimately accepted
for registration you will be required to pay the appropriate fees
from then on.You will be expected to supply a etailed breakdown
of the theoretical and clinical content of your training,and,if
possible,employment references from your work as a nurse or midwife.
What will happen once I have applied to be registered?
There are 5 possible outcomes of applying to register with the
NMC: :
1.Accepted for registration.
2. Required to undertake further education in the UK to develop
specific skills and provide reference to support application.
3.Required to undertake a period of supervised practice in the
UK and provide refer ence to support application.
4. Required to provide further information about your education
or practice.
5.Rejected if education and training was not at least 3 years
in length or if do not meet minimum requirements for application.

Where can I do my supervised placement?
Supervised placements can be carried out either in a hospital,
or in a nursing home that has been specifically audited by a
Higher Education Institution for the purpose of preparing
preregistration nurses. For more information on the nature of
supervised placements and guidelines for nursing home
placements please see Supervised Placements.
If I am a midwife where do I do my practice placements on an
adaptation programme?
The approved higher education institutions that run adaptation
programmes will provide appropriate practice placements
according to your needs.
These may be within a maternity unit and/or in the community.

What do I have to do when I am accepted for registration?
When you are accepted for registration, you will be asked to sign
a form agreeing to abide by the NMC's Code of professional conduct.
You will also need to pay the registration fee. This is currently
￡93, which is a ￡3 initial fee and ￡90 for three years' registration
